Seven school challenges

Estonia is considered to be new Finland what comes to using technology in Education. Estonian curricula developments has made ICT everyone’s business – from primary to subject teachers. In the panel you hear about seven challenges that Estonian schools have tackled to implement Digital Turn project (technical to mindset to changes in the curricula); see what are the different subject teacher’s responsibilities using and teaching ICT competences (also what the competences are and how the evaluation process looks like); learn about ProgeTiger and Smart Lab programs that gives ordinary teacher possibility to use technology in a creative and innovative ways, up to coding and programming level.

Birgy Lorenz, is ICT development manager and teacher in a Pelgulinna Gymnasium (Estonia), she is also board member of Estonian Informatics Teachers Association. She has been part of the National Curricula development group and also promoting Estonian best practices using technology in Education in Estonia but also in Tokyo, Madrid, Toronto, Hamburg etc.
